Solar flare what does it mean
Increasingly, as these industries develop, on-site solar and wind is a way of guaranteeing a lower price for electricity. And so there has been a boom in placing solar fields on top of landfills. In essence, they placed a bunch of solar panels in the form of a suspension bridge on top of the lift. At the end of October, the first landfill solar field in New York State was completed. There is no reason to suppose that his is the only Solar System: there may be many millions of solar systems.
For aught we know, there may be millions of systems, each containing millions of solar systems. Reckoning that Neptune is the outermost planet of the solar system, that system would have a diameter of 5, millions of miles. The old Negro watched the approaching flare of the head-light as he ran on, with a grim, defiant eye. His chuckle stopped as lightning flare threw the shadow of a man across the ground at Joseph's feet.

Examples of solar flare in a Sentence Recent Examples on the Web On Thursday, the sun released a significant solar flare toward Earth, peaking at a. EDT, scientists say. First Known Use of solar flare , in the meaning defined above. The gradual build up and decay of soft x-rays can be detected in the third, decay stage.
The duration of these stages can be as short as a few seconds or as long as an hour. Solar flares extend out to the layer of the Sun called the corona. The corona is the outermost atmosphere of the Sun, consisting of highly rarefied gas. This gas normally has a temperature of a few million degrees Kelvin. Inside a flare, the temperature typically reaches 10 or 20 million degrees Kelvin, and can be as high as million degrees Kelvin.
The corona is visible in soft x-rays, as in the above image. Notice that the corona is not uniformly bright, but is concentrated around the solar equator in loop-shaped features.
These bright loops are located within and connect areas of strong magnetic field called active regions. Sunspots are located within these active regions. Solar flares occur in active regions. The frequency of flares coincides with the Sun's eleven year cycle. When the solar cycle is at a minimum, active regions are small and rare and few solar flares are detected.
These increase in number as the Sun approaches the maximum part of its cycle.
